The Walbottle Campus opened in 1959 as the following three schools; Walbottle East, Walbottle West and Walbottle Grammar. They were officially opened in 1960. Several years later, the three schools were merged into Walbottle Campus Technology College (Its Current Format). The school is a State Secondary School in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. In 2008 a new building opened replacing the former three building campus. It operates under the Newcastle LEA Two Tier system and most pupils come from several local feeder primary schools.

Location

Walbottle Campus Technology College is located in Walbottle Village on the outskirts of Newcastle upon Tyne. Although Walbottle is a small village there are over 1500 pupils attending the school from a wide area of the city and some pupils from Northumberland.

The school has 12 dedicated bus routes. All but the 138 (which only operates 1 hour after all other buses on Monday - Thursday afternoons), operate both morning and afternoon. The routes are as follows 132, 137, 138, 141, 142, 143, 144, 145, 146, 147, 148, and the 155 Most buses are operated by Go North East

Local public buses include the 685 and X82 Both operated by Stagecoach Northeast/Cumbria some 685 services are operated by Ariva North East.
